Retired La Verne City Manager Marty Lomeli is the new Interim City Manager in the City of Morro Bay. Marty served as the La Verne City Manager for 23-years, retiring in 2010. He worked as the La Verne Assistant City Manager for 7-years prior to becoming City Manager at the age of 31. After retiring, he served as Interim City Manager in Upland in 2014 following City Manager Stephen Dunn’s retirement. He has also served as Interim City Manager in Irwindale and La Puente. Marty has relocated his residence to Morro Bay.
Murrieta City Manager Rick Dudley retired in June after serving the Murrieta community for 10-years. He became City Manager in November, 2007. Assistant City Manager Kim Summers replaced Rick. Prior to joining the Murrieta city staff Rick worked in various positions in the City of Vista. He was the Vista Assistant City Manager between 1997 and 2007.
Avalon City Manager David M. Jinkens maintains a family home in Lake Tahoe. David served as the South Lake Tahoe City Manager from 2001 to 2010. He has served as City Manager in: Soledad (1974-1975); City Administrator in Oroville (1977-1982); Avalon (1982-1983 & 2016-present); Manteca (1983-1996); Morgan Hill (1996-2000); Elk Grove (2000-2001); South Lake Tahoe (2002-2010); and Avalon. David earned an MPA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In 2008 David received a 35-year ICMA Service Award.
On Thursday, June 29, 2017 Artesia City Manager Bill Rawlings was spotted chatting with retired Fairfield City Manager Kevin O’Rourke at the Wood Ranch restaurant in the Cerritos Towne Center. Kevin stopped for lunch on his way to make a presentation in the City of Santa Ana. Bill previously served as the City Manager in Menifee, and he was Deputy City Manager in Vista under then City Manager Rita Geldert prior to that. Kevin served on the CCMF Board with Rita. Bill has been the Artesia City Manager since 2012.
Matthew Chidester, the Principal Management Analyst in the San Mateo County Manager’s office, has been appointed Deputy City Manager in the City of Half Moon Bay. He will be working with City Manager Magda González. Matthew is slated to start work at his new position July 18, nearly a year after his predecessor Alex Khojikian left to work as the Deputy City Manager in Redwood City.
Adelanto continues to recruit for a new City Manager. G. Michael Milhiser, former City Manager in Ontario and Upland, is the current Interim City Manager. He was appointed following the resignation of Cindy Herrera, who returned to the City Clerk position. Former City Manager Dr. Jim Hart resigned in February, 2015. Adelanto will interview City Manager candidates on August 1st.
