Former Jackson County, Miss. Clerk Ginger Lynn Lashley was arrested Tuesday at her home on eight counts of felony embezzlement, according to the Sun Herald.
Lashley, 50, allegedly stole $890,000 from Jackson County over a nine-year period.

In a state facing as many challenges as California, one has bedeviled us even longer than chronic budget deficits. For decades, in times of both prosperity and recession, we have grappled with the problem of securing enough water.
While the drought was ended this year by heavier-than-usual rainfall, drought will continue to be a recurring reality in Southern California. We tend to forget that we live in a desert and the way of life we enjoy is due to the foresight of our civic forebears who built the great water projects that irrigate this desert.

Entrepreneur always seemed like a funny word. Just say it in your head.
People often claim to be an entrepreneur. Many like to tell other people that they are entrepreneurs - "you seem like one heck of an entrepreneur!" one might say at a fancy dinner, a softball game or at the local lemonade stand.
By and large though, we all tend to forget to recognize what these business people who operate as their own business do for our financial system.

 City Manager Attacked By Pit Bulls Written by PublicCEO

Stockton City Manager Bob Deis was attacked by a pair of loose pit bulls on Wednesday morning while walking his dog through his neighborhood, according to the Stockton Record.
The attack occurred around 6:30 a.m. when the pit bulls went to attack Deis' Golden Retreiver puppy and, when Deis went to fight them off, was bit. Both Deis and his 5-month old retriever were treated for bite wounds.
