Timothy McKinney, the mayor of Berryville, Ark. was arrested on March 18 for drunk driving and possession of marijuana.

Apparently, March isn’t such a good month for him.  One year ago, on March 23, McKinney was arrested on the same charges.

According to an Associated Press report, police said that after spending nine days in jail following his 2008 arrest, the mayor would not face additional time behind bars as long as he wasn’t arrested again within the time frame of one year.

So close.

His first charges resulted in a misdemeanor, but Washington County patrol sergeant, Bret Hagan, told the Associated Press that his second conviction would be a felony.

McKinney has been the mayor of the Northwest Arkansas city since 2001.
