  • Former Corona City Manager Beth Groves will become Norco’s interim City Manager this week following a vote last week by the City Council, according to The Press Enterprise. Previously, Jeff Allread ran Norco as lead administrator, but he took a position in Rosemead.

  • The City Council of Grand Terrace may eliminate the assistant city manager position, according to the San Bernardino County Sun. The City Council approved the proposal last week, meaning Assistant City Manager Steve Berry may lose his position.
  • Walter J. Bobkiewicz will move from his role as city manager in Santa Paula to the city of Evanston in Illinois. According to a press release from the City of Evanston, Bobkiewicz served as Santa Paula’s City Manager, was the Assistant City Manager for Novato for four years. And previously spent 10 years in positions in Long Beach. Bobkiewicz grew up in the Chicago suburbs and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from University of Southern California.
  • It’s not California, but it’s worth a note. The Irving, Texas City Council gave City Manager Tommy Gonzalez a raise to make him the highest paid city manger in Texas. His new annual compensation package is worth more than $390,000, according to The Dallas Morning News.
  • McKinney, Texas announced the hiring of Aretha Harvey to the assistant City Manager position. Previously, Harvey was a a Management Analyst for the City Manager’s Office in Fremont.
