Escalon City Manager Greg Greeson has been put on administrative leave.

Greeson told The Modesto Bee newspaper that discussions regarding his continued employment are ongoing and amicable but had no other official comment from the city.

The 54-year-old Greeson has served as City Manager since 2003, and was Escalon’s Assistant City Manager prior to then. Police Chief Doug Dunford is serving as acting City Manager.

Greeson told The Modesto Bee, “We’re talking through some things,” while City Councilman Jeff Laugero told the newspaper the council will discuss the matter in closed session on Wednesday.

According to the report, Greeson would get nine months of his annual pay of $117,000 if fired.
