Mayor Capone Almon of East Haven, Conn. was arrested on the charge of interfering with police business.

Almon was at a local restaurant near the beach when cars without parking permits were being towed. The town requires violators of parking permits to be ticketed, not towed.

After observing the police on scene, Almon called the police chief regarding the issue, according to Eyewitness News 3.

The police officers claimed that the towing of vehicles was necessary in order to unblock other vehicles in the lot. In a clear disagreement with the officers, Almon used harsh and inappropriate language with the officers.

Almon turned herself into the police last Friday, and was released by noon of that same day.
