Ken Pulskamp was named President of the City Managers Department of the League of California Cities last week.

Pulskamp is the Santa Clarita City Manager.

The one-year appointment was announced last week at the annual League of California Cities conference.  He will replace last year’s President, Kevin Duggan.

During a speech at the conference to accept the position, Pulskamp said he plans to focus on pension reform, state governance and continuation of department reforms.

According to a release, Pulskamp hopes the City Mangers Department will take the lead in developing fiscally responsible solutions that are fair to employees, employers and taxpayers to deal with much-needed pension reform in California.
