The City Manager of Seaside, Ray Corpuz, got a vote of no confidence from the city’s Police Officers Association.

Corpuz placed Police Chief Stephen Cercone on leave and immediately replaced him, according to The Monterey County Herald.

In a statement from Corpuz, he said he the Police Officers Association took its vote without directly communicating concerns to him first but that he is open to working with the association.

President of the Officers Association, Nick Broges, said it plans to present to City Council on Nov. 18 to explain its non-support of Corpuz, according to the article.
