Former County Supervisor Given Official City Manager Title

Former Placer County Supervisor Bruce Kranz will drop the Interim tag and become Colfax’s City Manager.

The Colfax City Council announced the unanimous appointment of Kranz as city manager on Wednesday night.

Kranz replaced former Colfax City Manager Joan Phillipe, who left the position in July in a mutual decision by the city and herself. The two sides agreed to end negotiations to extend her contract. Phillipe was hired in September 2006.

Phillipe told PublicCEO in July, “Bruce brings to the city a tremendous amount of background and knowledge of the community having been the Placer County Supervisor for this area. 

“His contacts at the state and federal level  and throughout the area will be an asset that will serve the city well.”
