Wal-Mart delivered in more than $467 million in cash and gifts this past fiscal year to charitable organizations, including $41,500 in Yolo County.

The Davis Enterprise reported on Sunday that “some of those funds went to the Yolo County Historical Museum, Food Bank of Yolo County, American Red Cross – Yolo County Chapter, Mexican American Concilio of Yolo County, Woodland Volunteer Bureau Food Closet and West Sacramento Rotary Foundation, according to a company spokeswoman.

More from the Enterprise …”In California, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation gave more than $23 million, supporting nonprofits like Special Olympics Northern California; California Congress of Parents, Teachers and Students Inc.; Conservation Corps of Long Beach; Centro De Salud; Global Green USA; and California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom.

“Our business is growing and as a result we’re fortunate that our charitable giving is increasing as well,” said Margaret McKenna, Walmart Foundation president, according to the Enterprise.
