In response to news reports of unconscionable compensation practices in the small city of Bell, California, Mayor Ashley Swearengin on Tuesday directed that salaries for all top City of Fresno officials be made available online in an easily accessible format.

Mayor Swearengin said salaries for the following positions are now available on the City’s website: Mayor, City Council members, City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Deputy City Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk,  Police Chief and the City’s 14 department directors.

The City also is working on a long-term approach to posting additional compensation information, including comparisons with salaries in other cities.

Salary information for all City employees is available on the City Personnel Services Department’s web page at www.fresno.gov/personnel by accessing Memoranda of Understanding with employee groups and salary resolutions adopted by City Council during the budget process.
