A Kings County supervisor is facing allegations of felony sexual assault on an unconscious and intoxicated woman, according to a Fresno Bee article.

A 24-year-old woman arrived at 3:30 a.m. at the Corcoran police station claiming that she had been raped by Supervisor Richard Valle in his home.

Valle, 40, was elected to the Kings County Board of Supervisors two years ago. He was arrested on four felonies, according to The Bee, including oral copulation on an unconscious victim, oral copulation on an intoxicated victim, sexual penetration of an unconscious victim and sexual penetration of an intoxicated victim. Valle was released on $300,000 bail.

The following reaction came out of Kings County, according to the newspaper:
“We all were shocked,” said fellow Supervisor Richard Fagundes. “I feel sorry for him right now.”

The charges seem out of character, Fagundes said, adding that he would “stand by the man until he’s found guilty.”

“Like any other situation, innocent until proven guilty,” said Larry Spikes, the county administrative officer.
