With maintenance costs rising and city revenues short, Elk Grove had to find another way to keep its regional transit system running. It asked for the help of neighbors.
RT has loaned the city 10 of its 40-foot-buses from its reserve fleet. The city placed those buses into operation on e-tran routes on Oct. 18 and plans to use the buses for about eight months.
Sacramento’s Regional Transit District was able to come to the rescue.

The city of Elk Grove has partnered with the Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) to address a temporary bus shortage in the city’s e-tran operation.
