In an effort to wean the city off of State and National funding sources, the City Manager is ready to spent months more work developing the city’s recovery plan. Along with the heads of various departments, he’s hoping to combine short-term growth with long-term sustainability.

Top city managers are developing a recovery plan designed to jump-start Sacramento’s defunct economic engine to get the city back up and running.


Interim City Manager Gus Vina, who is drafting the plan, said its focus is to guide the city out of the recession while at the same time making Sacramento less reliant on state and federal aid.
