Brian McLean has been chosen as the recipient of the Doris W. Kahn Accessible Transportation Award.

Brian was pivitol to creating the Solano County Intercity Taxi Scrip service, that enables residents with disabilities to travel between cities for deeply discounted rates, and thereby increasing accessibility.

McLean was instrumental in the establishment of the Solano program, and helped enlist the support of all transit agencies and taxicab companies in the county

The program, which was launched this year, offers 24-hour operation, short waits for service and heavily discounted rides.




Riders can purchase $100 worth of taxi fares for $15, officials said.
