The City of Antioch had has success in the past with negotiating and bargaining with its employees. This year, however, they need continued success to avoid layoffs.
Mid-year cuts are on the horizon if the five bargaining groups can’t agree to continued concessions.

City employees will face layoffs next month if they do not continue their current concessions, elected officials said early Wednesday.
The Antioch City Council unanimously voted to cut $737,000 in staff costs from its $36 million general fund budget for the current fiscal year, which ends June 30.
That amount is the city’s cost to reinstate raises, pay cuts, and cost-of-living increases that employee groups gave up earlier this year.
