Last week, there we ran a story about a county contractor who wanted a quarter million dollar bonus.

This week, they received it.

But before it was awarded, there were questions of whether or not they deserved it, if they had fulfilled their requirements, and the quality of their work.

Nevertheless, with 300 responses to a survey (out of 18,000), they qualified for a contractually guaranteed bonus.

A quarter-million dollar bonus for the county’s computer contractor was awarded today despite repeated complaints of substandard performance and supervisors’ questions over whether the company actually fulfilled the requirements to warrant the extra cash.

It is the largest bonus the county has ever awarded to ACS, which has a 10-year, $266 million contract to manage the county’s computer needs.
