Placer County Supervisor Kirk Uhler has had to place his district director on administrative leave, after  $15,000 and $20,000 went missing from a campaign account managed by the staffer.

The temporary dismissal is standard practice in the county, but must still come as something of a blow to Uhler, who has known the man for many years and has employed him for the last four.

But allegedly stealing money from a newly elected district attorney is not a wise career move.

Placer County Supervisor Kirk Uhler announced Saturday that his district director, Brian Scott Jagger, has been placed on administrative leave.

Jagger, who also served as campaign treasurer for incoming Placer County District Attorney Scott Owens, was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing between $15,000 and $20,000 from Owens’ campaign account.
