Due to changes in the organizational structure in the City of Modesto over the past two years, the Human Resources Department has created the position of Employee Benefits Manager.
With the restructuring and elimination of the Deputy Director position within Human Resources, the management of the Benefits Division has been assumed by staff.
A complex study and was conducted to determine the appropriate classification needed to handle the management of this division.
As a result, it is recommended that an Employee Benefits Manager classification be established to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the activities of the Employee Benefits Unit, to negotiate and execute contractual agreements, oversee enrollment, health and retirement benefit programs, and develop and implement program goals, policies, procedures. The Employee Benefits Manager was established at salary range 2439 ($5,987 to $7,294) and be placed in an unrepresented status.
This resolution was given to the Modesto City Council by City Manager Greg Nyhoff and Deputy City Manager Dee Williams-Ridley.
