To further entice qualified, talented applicants, the County is offering a competitive salary of up to $125,000 DOQ (includes 10% premium license stipend) and an excellent benefit package. Under the County’s CalPERS retirement plan, the County pays the employee contribution, and pension are calculated with a 2 @ 55% formula. The County will also pay a portion of medical monthly premium for employee and dependents, and 100% of monthly premium for dental, vision, and life insurance.
But the job, and its benefits (fringe and otherwise) must be earned. The County is requiring a minimum of six years of professional experience in a civil engineering and county or city public works environment, including at least five years at a management level. An educational background equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with a valid California Registration as a professional Engineer is required.
The successful applicant must possess demonstrated leadership skills and be capable of making decisions, which reflect macro and micro understanding, and must be computer savvy.
