Last week, the Parks and Recreation Commission of Santa Clara made a significant contribution to five separate charitable organizations in their community.

The City Council of Santa Clara selected five charities to receive funds from the 31st Annual Santa Clara Art and Wine Festival. On November 1st, City Manager Jennifer Sparacino along with Ray Gamma, Vice-Chairman of the Parks and recreation Commission presented a total of $45,000 to the Santa Clara Schools Foundation, Santa Clara Police Activities League, the Friends of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation, Wilcox High School Grad Night Committee, and the Santa Clara High School Grad Night Committee.
The Santa Clara Schools Foundation and Santa Clara Police Activities League received the bulk of the funds, at $13,000 each. The Director of Parks and Recreation James Teixera also signed off on the report.
