At the direction of the Board of Supervisors to identify qualified candidates, Los Angeles County Chief Executive Officer William T Fujioka recommended the appointment of Santos H. Kreimann to serve as Chief Deputy Assessor.  Kreimann’s nomination will be considered by the Board of Supervisors at their meeting next Tuesday, June 19, 2012.

Santos H. Kreimann was appointed as the County’s Director of Beaches and Harbors on January 27, 2009.  He is a longtime County employee with over 20 years of experience in various County Departments including the Treasurer and Tax Collector’s Office, the Department of Health Services, the Chief Administrative Office, and the Department of Beaches and Harbors. Mr. Kreimann received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles in 1991.  He resides in Whittier, California with his wife and three daughters.

Assessor John Noguez had previously announced that he will take a voluntary leave of absence during an ongoing investigation within the Assessor’s Office. The new Chief Deputy Assessor is expected to act as department head in the Assessor’s absence. Noguez’s leave is not scheduled to begin until the Board of Supervisors submits to him their recommendation for Chief Deputy Assessor and he makes the appointment.

A salary and start date for Mr. Kreimann will be determined at a date in the near future as a transition plan is developed between the Assessor’s Office, the Chief Executive Office, and Mr. Kreimann. A complete resume and official photo for Mr. Kreimann can be found on the County’s homepage at http://www.lacounty.gov
