The City Council in Powder Springs, Georgia, has approved the permits for a new and uncommon combination. A new, members-only gun club will soon be built about 100 yards from a neighborhood. The only catch is this gun club will have a liquor license.
According to a report coming out of Georgia, gun club owners will allow members to choose one of two activities per day – they can drink or they can shoot. But parents and homeowners in the nearby neighborhood say that the gun club policy offers little reassurance that the two won’t mix and end with terrible results.
Current gun laws in Georgia allow individuals to carry loaded weapons – with a permit – into restaurants that serve alcohol, so this new concept is supposedly just an extension of that rule.
Typically, one would reason that guns and alcohol don’t mix.
