A resolution in the city of Fresno was passed on August 16th allowing Club One Casino (“Club One”) to increase the number of card room tables from 49 to 51. The Gambling Control Act allows for an increase of the number of tables authorized by the City Card Room Ordinance and operated within the City by two.

According to the city’s staff report, Club One provides employment in Downtown Fresno to over 330 people. The increase in available tables would also increase the level of employment.

Club One has generated millions of dollars of table tax revenue for the City since the beginning of their operation; and by increasing the number of card room tables, Club One can increase its business thereby generating more table tax revenue for the City.

The council granted a conditional card room permit to Club One authorizing the club to operate 35 card tables. Since the initial permit the council increased the table limit to 49.
