Staff in the city of Oceanside will recommend to the City Council the approval of a contract in the amount of $153,219 to Ramona Paving and Construction Corporation for the repair of Morro Heights Road. The improvements will consist of applying a “cape seal”, resurfacing pot holes, other paving repairs, and asphalt curbing that will create better drainage and prevent sediment from surfacing on the street during inclimat weather.

According to the staff report, on August 13, 2011 the Council approved the project and opened the following six bids publicly on July 31, 2012.

Ramona Paving and Construction Corp. was awarding the contract due to having the lowest contract price and meeting all of the project requirements. According to the report, including staff time and field inspection the estimated project cost is $190,000. Funding will come from the TransNet funds for street maintenance.
