The position, which is based in the city of Oroville, will have broad responsibilities and oversight of a department that is responsible for services in the County’s five incorporated cities and numerous unincorporated communities. To ensure the effective management of the department, the next Director of Public Health is expected to have executive level health and/or health and human services management experience. The successful applicant will have an in depth knowledge of emerging health and system issues in California and will be experienced in working with and adapting to the needs of the constituents of elected officials in local government.  

Other requested skills and experience include dealing with internal departmental issues such as human resources including experience with related unions, budgeting and strategic planning, as well as experience with operations in such areas as Information Systems and facilities management.

The full-time position comes with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off and PERS retirement. The annual salary range is $128,216-$156,709.
