The Alameda County Agricultural Fair Association, located in Pleasanton, is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer to lead a dynamic organization, overseen and inspire 80 full-time staff, and work with the 26-member Board of Directors.

Situated on 268 acres with a horse training facility and race track, multi-purpose event/conference facility, the Alameda County Fair Association works to assure the long-term viability of the Alameda County Fairgrounds, present an exceptional Annual Fair which celebrates the heritage and diversity of Alameda County, and provide year-round opportunities for facility usage. The association operates with a 26-member board, 80 full-time employees, and 700 seasonal staff.

This position requires outstanding leadership skills; a creative approach to marketing the facilities for year-round use; exceptional management skills to inspire and lead the team of employees.

In addition to being a proven, effective communicator with an outstanding customer service orientation, successful candidates must have the ability to share the vision of a 26-member Board of Directors representing the diverse needs and interests of Alameda County. This position is well suited to a public sector executive / generalist.

A competitive salary range ($180,000 – $200,000) is offered with placement within the range DOQ. Benefits include eligibility in AFCA’s retirement plan after six months of employment (non-PERS).
