The community development director for the City of Independence, Missouri, Jennifer Clark, has been selected as the director of the City of Fresno’s Development and Resource Management Department.
“Jennifer Clark has a broad range of experience in managing community development functions that match Fresno’s challenges,” Scott said. “She has a great sense for customer service, urban planning philosophy, neighborhood revitalization, and staff development. I feel very confident of her ability to hit the ground running at a critical time in the Central Valley’s progression.
The City of Fresno has been operating without a full-time DARM director for nearly two years. Scott has served as interim director of the department during that time.
“The City of Fresno is a vibrant and growing community,” Clark said. “I am looking forward to working with visionary leadership and an engaged community to address the City’s current challenges and future opportunities.”
Clark has served as community development director for Independence since 2008. She also has served as director of community and economic development for Albany, Georgia; single family marketing specialist with the Southeast Texas Housing Finance Corporation; a consultant and housing services specialist in Longview, Texas; and director of neighborhood housing development in Kilgore, Texas.
Clark received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Drury University and a master’s degree in business administration from Webster University. She will be relocating from Missouri and will start working for the City in early summer. Her base salary will be $155,000.
