The California City Management Foundation (CCMF) is accepting applications for its annual scholarship program. The deadline for submissions is Friday, June 19, 2015.

CCMF offers the WesMcClure Scholarship annually to prospective graduate students attending a public or private university or college in Califaornia. Successful applicants will be interested in pursuing a career (or are already actively working) in local government. The two (2) $1,500 awards help to cover direct educational expenses, such as tuition or books. Students do not need to be committed to a specific area of academic study to qualify.

To apply, applicants must submit: a cover letter, basic academic information, contact information, a 750-word (or less) essay, and two reference letters. Applicants can learn more on the Wes McClure Scholarship page of the CCMF website. If you know of students interested in a career in local government, please let them know about this scholarship opportunity.

Wes McClure, for whom the scholarship was named, served as City Manager of San Leandro for 28 years. He passed away at the age of 94 on December 20, 2009. CCMF is proud to continue to honor Wes and his outstanding and significant contributions to the City Management profession, the League of California Cities, and the State of California.
