Today, MuniServices proudly announced that Brenda Narayan, its Director of Government Relations in Sacramento, has been appointed to the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ (USCM) Business Council Steering Committee.

For nearly 20 years, Brenda has dedicated herself to making cities stronger by advocating for better state and national policy that supports local revenue. In her appointment to the USCM Business Council, Brenda will continue this work by helping guide local public/private partnerships on common issues such as economic development, public safety, infrastructure, and housing.

“I am thankful to the U.S. Conference of Mayors for selecting me for this important role,” said Brenda Narayan. “With the experience and deep understanding of local government economics in the MuniServices team, my goal is to bring that combined knowledge to the table on important policies that will help bolster the economic vitality of our nation’s cities.”

Brenda’s appointment is a synergistic fit as MuniServices has shared similar views with the USCM on issues like the Streamlined Sales Tax project and the Internet Tax Freedom Act. Through MuniServices’ programs, Brenda and her colleagues work on the ground in cities and capitols across the nation to directly impact the financial vitality and sustainability of America’s local municipalities.

The U.S. Conference of Mayors is the official nonpartisan organization of nearly 1,400 cities across the country, each represented by its chief elected official, the mayor. Their role is to promote the development of effective national urban/suburban policy, and strengthen the relationships between federal and city leaders. www.usmayors.org
