This video may be several years old but it’s Halloween, so let’s have some fun reliving this story, shall we?

Back in 2010, residents in the community of Lawndale petitioned the city to remove garlic plants from one of the town’s central streets. Residents complained that the plants caused the city to smell like a skunk or marijuana.

KTLA covered the story and interviewed Councilman Jim Ramsey, who had the following to say about the ordeal:

“The only reason we had garlic put in was so we could keep the vampires out of town. And since we have had garlic I haven’t seen one single solitary vampire in town.”

Some residents took offense to the Councilman’s comments and “vampires” were later seen in Lawndale protesting over Ramsey’s slight at City Hall.
