Ontario City Manager Al Bolling has been charged with working with a consultant executive recruiter to conduct a search for his replacement. Al asked the City Council to return him to his previous position of Assistant City Manager. Al was selected as Ontario City Manager in 2013.

Interim City Manager Jeffrey Epp, a former City Attorney, has been appointed City Manager in the City of Escondido. Jeff served as the Escondido City Attorney between (1985-2016). Prior to joining the City of Escondido he worked as the Cheyenne, Wyoming Assistant City Attorney between 1983 and 1985. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wyoming College of Law.

Debra Rose is the new Lake Forest City Manager succeeding retired longtime City Manager Robert Dunek. Debra has worked with the Lake Forest city staff for the past 17-years. She worked for Garden Grove prior to joining the Lake Forest staff in 2000. Debra earned a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and an MPA from California State University, Fullerton.

Carl Hatfield Jr. served as the City Manager Sandy, Oregon (1973-1976), Oakdale (1976-1979) and Ojai (November, 1979-1985). Carl earned a BS from Long Beach State College in 1959. Carl passed away at the age of 68 in January, 2009. He started his public service career as an Administrative Intern in Anaheim.

Former Malibu City Manager James E. Thorsen is the new City Manager in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado. Jim retired from Malibu last year. Jim earned a BS in civil engineering from Colorado State University, and has been working toward an MPA at California State University, Northridge. Prior to his work in Malibu, Jim was the Assistant City Manager in Agoura Hills. Lemoore City Manager Andi Welsh has reached a separation agreement with the City and has resigned effective May 9. She has been on Administrative Leave with full compensation since January 11. Andi relocated from Arizona to take the Lemoore position in June, 2015. Andi previously served as the Assistant to the Town Manager in the Town of Gilbert, Arizona. She also held executive posts in El Mirage, and Sedona, Arizona. She earned a BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MPA from Villanova University. She is past President of the Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity (2009-2011).

Former California City Manager Ronald L. Kiedrowski, who moved to Florida following his retirement, has returned to the Golden State in the City of Pacific Grove, home of the Point Pino Lighthouse, and where Ben Harvey is the current City Manager. [The Point Pino Lighthouse is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the West Coast.] Ron began his career in 1964. After a few position assignments, he was appointed Assistant City Manager in Paso Robles in 1981. He went to Show Low, Arizona as City Manager in 1984 and then worked as City Manager in La Quinta (1986-1992); and American Canyon (1992-1994). He retired as Assistant City Manager in San Pablo in 2003.
