Fran Robustelli comes to the City of San Leandro with 25 years of public service
During the December 7 San Leandro City Council meeting, the Council unanimously voted to approve the contract of Ms. Fran Robustelli, who will serve as interim City Manager beginning on December 21st. Her selection follows on current City Manager Jeff Kay’s previously announced departure to become the new city manager for the City of Healdsburg, California.
For the past 25 years, Ms. Robustelli has served in executive roles with special districts and city governments. Most recently, Ms. Robustelli served as the interim city manager for the City of Clayton in Contra Costa County. With previous specialization in human resources, Ms. Robustelli is also skilled in a wide range of other City service areas, including economic development, budget & risk management, and emergency services.
“Fran Robustelli is a seasoned and effective leader who has grappled with many difficult decisions, including challenges arising from the coronavirus pandemic in her previous assignment,” said Mayor Pauline Russo Cutter. “I am impressed with Fran’s governmental experience and desire to continue moving San Leandro forward seamlessly as Jeff Kay transitions to his next opportunity.”
In response to her appointment, Ms. Robustelli stated, “I look forward to working with the City Council, staff, and other community stakeholders as we collectively work together during this difficult time resulting from the pandemic.” Ms. Robustelli’s interim service in this role is expected to continue until the City Council completes a national recruitment for the City Manager position, which will commence early next year.
