During the May 3rd City Council meeting, the Council voted to approve the contract of Ms. Fran Robustelli, who will serve as the City of San Leandro City Manager beginning Tuesday, May 4th. This permanent selection follows her service as Interim City Manager since December 2020.
For the past 25 years, Ms. Robustelli has served in executive roles with special districts and city governments. With previous specialization in human resources, Ms. Robustelli is also skilled in a wide range of other City service areas, including economic development, budget & risk management, and emergency services.
“Ms. Robustelli took charge of the City Manager position amid the coronavirus pandemic, calls for police reform, budget shortfalls, and City Council leadership changes,” stated Mayor Pauline Russo Cutter. “I’m thrilled that we hired someone who is so well prepared to be our City Manager. This selection also highlights the City’s diversity goals as Fran is the first female permanent city manager in our community’s history.”
In response to her appointment, Ms. Robustelli, stated “The previous months in San Leandro have been one of the busiest times in my public sector career. However, I’m thankful to be entrusted with this permanent role so that I can continue to support Mayor Cutter and the City Council in the various projects and challenges they will address in 2021 and into the future.”
