The Paramount City Council has authorized a new program to encourage younger residents in town to get vaccinated.
Any resident between the ages of 16 and 29 who becomes fully vaccinated after May 4 can receive a free $10 gift card from the City. They simply need to show proof of vaccination and proof of Paramount residency or attendance at a Paramount Unified School District campus.
“As is happening almost everywhere, the number of the newly vaccinated folks have been dropping in Paramount,” said Mayor Brenda Olmos. “In some ways this is being driven by younger people.
“We are continually promoting vaccination clinics in town and nearby,” she continued. “We hope this extra bit of enticement will help bring our participation figures up.”
