The City of Fontana was recently awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the 2019/2020 fiscal year by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The report was judged by an impartial panel to ensure that the high standards of the program are met. This includes demonstrating a “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story.
“It is an honor for the City of Fontana to be awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This award demonstrates staff’s knowledge and our transparency,” said Mayor Acquanetta Warren. “It is Fontana’s goal to create opportunities for investment and financial growth and to encourage social and economic investment.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
