City of Torrance logoWith pleasure, Torrance City Manager Aram Chaparyan appointed Jamie Le as Assistant to the City Manager effective February 14, 2022.

Jamie began working for the City of Torrance in 2011 as a Community Relations Specialist with the CitiCABLE division of the City Manager’s office.  In this capacity, Jamie had opportunity to interact with many City departments while producing articles for the Torrance Seasons publication, overseeing the City’s website and events calendar, and reviewing public notices.  As the City’s speech writer, Jamie worked closely with Elected Officials to prepare them for citywide events, ribbon cuttings, and groundbreaking dedication ceremonies.  From 2011 to present, Jamie has developed the Mayor’s message for the annual State of the City Address.

In 2015, Jamie was promoted to Management Associate, where she served as Staff Liaison to the Council Committees for Armed Forces Day and the Website Redesign.  She was an active member of the Economic Development Team, Torrance Refinery Community Advisory Panel, and the City’s Centennial Celebration Committee.  Jamie created a temporary website and updated the social media accounts during the 2020 Cyber Incident, which allowed the City to remain responsive and informative to its residents.

Jamie was advanced to Senior Management Associate in 2020.  She was instrumental in assisting with the City’s COVID-19 response by creating a resource website, online ordering system for TorranceCares 2-Go, Farmers’ Market curbside service, and TorranceCares 4 Seniors assistance program.  She serves an integral role in overseeing the Interactive Communications Officers’ positions and developing the 24/7 TorranceAlerts operations for community awareness. Jamie is providing vital assistance with the proposed Sales Tax Measure messaging and delivery.

Jamie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, Concentration: Advertising; and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Concentration: Marketing, graduating Magna Cum Laude from California State University Fullerton in August 2007.

Jamie’s continued growth and innovative skillset for marketing and branding, assessing community needs, and improving external client services, projects and programs, earned her the promotion to Assistant to the City Manager.    In her new role, Jamie will be the City’s lead for Labor Relations. She will expand her role in emergency services as the City Manager’s Emergency Operations Center Director. Jamie will continue her role on the Economic Development Team, and take on additional responsibilities to support City Council and committees of the Council. Jamie will remain a resource to Cable and Community Relations to ensure the successful and seamless transition of responsibilities.
