City of Menifee logoThe City of Menifee invites the community to honor the courageous men and women who fought in the Vietnam War at the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans event on  Wednesday, March 30 at 4 p.m. at Paloma Valley High School (31375 Bradley Rd.).

Hosted in partnership with the students and organizations at Paloma Valley High School, the  Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans event will celebrate Menifee’s Vietnam veteran community and commemorate their sacrifices and contributions to the Vietnam War.

“Many veterans who returned home from the Vietnam War never received the acknowledgment they deserved and disappeared into the fabric of our society,” said Menifee Mayor Pro Tem Dean Deines.  “This event gives us the opportunity to officially welcome our Vietnam veterans home and thank  them for their service to our country.”

Honorees at the City’s Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans event will receive a challenge coin and commemorative dog tags to memorialize and honor their military service during the Vietnam War.

Menifee community members will also have an opportunity to film a welcome home message for  Vietnam veterans on Wednesday, March 23 at Spirit Park (25507 Normandy Rd.). City Staff will be filming at the park from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for those interested in participating. The video will be showcased at the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans event on March 30.
