Following the June 6 Council meeting, La Verne City Manager Bob Russi expressed his desire to retire in August 2022 to the City Council. Russi has served as La Verne’s City Manager since 2010.

“It has been a pleasure working with Bob, and we are thankful for his longtime dedication and service to the La Verne community,” said Mayor Tim Hepburn. “His leadership and commitment to the City has allowed us to accomplish important community milestones and has gotten us through challenging times, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Although he will be missed, the City of La Verne is extremely proud of the positive impact Bob has had on our Council, staff and the community, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

The City Council and the City Manager will begin the transition process and will conduct a formal recruitment for a successor and interim City Manager during the remainder of the search. The City will provide updates throughout the process.

“Serving as the City Manager for this community and organization for the last 12 years has been one of the greatest honors of my career, and I have enjoyed every second of it,” said City Manager Bob Russi. “I have been very fortunate to work alongside such a dedicated City Council and committed department heads and staff that go above and beyond to serve our community. Although I will miss my colleagues and the La Verne community, I am confident the City will be in good hands, and I look forward to helping the Council in making the transition as seamless as possible.”
