County of Orange logoThe Orange County Board of Supervisors has unanimously appointed An Tran as the new director of the County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA), effective August 12, 2022.

With over 23 years of service to the County of Orange, Mr. Tran’s experience spans four County departments including the Social Services Agency, OC Waste & Recycling, County Executive Office and the OC Health Care Agency. He currently serves as the Social Services Agency’s chief deputy director.

His leadership has been instrumental in projects such as the resettlement of Afghan refugees, Orange County’s COVID-19 Incident Management Team and the collaboration of county and community partners to begin work on the Master Plan for Aging.

Mr. Tran earned his MBA at University of California, Irvine and his bachelor’s degree in both International Business and Biochemistry from California State University, Fullerton.

As the largest county department, the Social Services Agency serves more than one out of four Orange County residents with Adult Services, Aid Programs, eligibility for public assistance benefits, Children & Family Services and Family Self-Sufficiency programs.
