After three and a half years as the City Manager of Martinez, Eric Figueroa has decided to resign from his position to pursue other opportunities. The decision and terms related to his departure were mutually agreed upon by the City Council and Eric.

“As Mayor of the City of Martinez, I would like to thank Eric for his service to our city. Eric was instrumental in moving us forward on many significant projects and helping us navigate through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated Mayor Rob Schroder. “I wish Eric well in his new pursuits, while our team will remain focused on the needs and future of Martinez.”

Eric will remain available to the city to assist with the transition while being on administrative leave until January 4, 2023, at which time he will formally vacate his position. The City Council has chosen to continue Michael Chandler’s service as Acting City Manager until that time.

“It was an honor to serve the residents, business, staff and City Council of Martinez. Our community accomplished a lot these past three and a half years, and I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this winning team,” stated Mr. Figueroa.
