Menifee’s award-winning Economic Development Department received another high accolade this month, receiving the 2022 Excellence Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The organization announced this year’s award winners during the IEDC Annual Conference held last week in Oklahoma City.
The Menifee Economic Development Department was specifically honored for its marketing efforts in alignment with Menifee’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), which helps identify and attract industries to diversify the local economy. Based on its CEDS, the department created an aggressive marketing campaign to catch the attention of site selectors, developers, and businesses looking to locate in Menifee.
Over the past year, Menifee’s Economic Development Department has produced a wide variety of marketing materials that represent the growing demand and opportunity in the city utilizing cutting edge, creative, and innovative methods. Marketing efforts have included advertisements in several large site selector magazines, industry marketing materials, Brewery Ambassador Program, Menifee Restaurant Week promotions, launch of the Explore Menifee Magazine, and economic development presentations to local stakeholders.
“Our Economic Development team has a proven track record of embracing innovation and thinking outside the box to bring high-quality businesses into our community,” said City Manager Armando Villa. “Their hard work and creative approach to economic development continues to be recognized on a national scale.”
IEDC is the largest nonprofit professional association for economic developers in the world. Their 2022 Excellence Awards are judged by a diverse panel of economic and community developers from around the globe.
