The City of Hawthorne proudly announces a variety of programs and facilities to serve its senior population. The City repurposed tennis courts and basketball courts into multi-use pickleball courts at three different park locations and reminds seniors of the additional amenities available to them.

The City of Hawthorne is on a mission to introduce its residents to an up-and-coming sport that is quickly gaining popularity among people in the South Bay. Multi-use courts that include pickleball are now available in three locations:

  • Ramona Park
    • 4662 W. 136 th St.
  • Holy Glen Park
    • 5255 W. 137 th St.
  • Betty Ainsworth Sports Center
    • 3851 W. El Segundo Blvd.

”We’re excited that our residents of all ages can now enjoy this popular sport” stated City Manager Vontray Norris. “These new courts are part of the City’s effort to upgrade existing parks with new amenities that will allow the whole family to partake in healthy recreation and leisure activities.” Senior play for pickleball will be on Tuesday/Thursday from 10:00am-11:00am, from January 17, 2023 – April 27, 2023.
