Town Manager Steve Rogers announced the appointment of Irene Borba to the post of planning and building director for the Town of Yountville. Borba is a seasoned local government planning professional who brings over 30 years of work experience to the position. She has served as the planning and building director for the City of Belvedere in Marin County for the past nine years where she was responsible for the direct supervision of the departmental staff, support and staffing for the Planning Commission along with other boards and was responsible for implementing all of the aspects of the City General Plan, Zoning, Architectural Review and Subdivision Ordinances, and implementing all state and federal planning and affordable housing laws, rules and regulations.

In addition to her experience in Belvedere, she also worked in local planning positions for the City of Tiburon and Petaluma as well as in the private sector providing contact municipal planning services. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies/City Planning from Sonoma State University.

Rogers noted that “Borba brings to Yountville a strong professional planning background with demonstrated work experience in smaller agencies which are on point for her new role in Yountville. We are excited to have her join our team.” Ms. Borba stated “I am excited to begin my new journey with the Town of Yountville. I look forward to working with the Council, Board, staff and the community. I am excited to get started!” She will begin work with the Town on February 13, 2023.
