The California City Management Foundation (CCMF) will host a panel discussion at the 2023 League of California Cities City Managers Conference in Carlsbad. The session on public safety programs will take place on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 3:45-5:00 p.m.
CCMF Board Member and City Manager of El Cerrito, Karen Pinkos will moderate the discussion. Panelists will include:
- Matthew Chidester, City Manager, City of Half Moon Bay
- Jorge Cisneros, Police Chief, City of Anaheim
- Marisa Creter, Executive Director, San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments
The rise of mental illness is impacting the needs of various city departments, and the question arises: which department is best equipped to offer support? During CCMF’s panel, attendees will learn about innovative approaches to responding to crises related to mental illness that relieve some of the responsibilities that have typically been placed on police and fire departments.
Don’t miss out on this timely discussion during the 2023 League of California Cities City Managers Conference. Members of the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions to presenters during the session. To attend, please register for the conference on the League of California Cities’ website. We look forward to seeing you there!
