Fresno County logoPaul Nerland, the Fresno County administrative officer, has named Ed Hill as the new chief opperating officer in Fresno County. Hill is scheduled to begin on April 17, 2023.

Ed Hill is currently the county administrative officer (CAO) at Kings County and brings diverse experience in both the private and public sector including county administration, emergency management, hospital administration and as a paramedic. He has served on multiple local and statewide boards and commissions. Prior to serving as the current CAO at the County of Kings, Mr. Hill served as the director of Public Health from 2017 through 2021 at the County of Kings. He’s also served as the director of Emergency Medical Services at the County of Kern.

During his time at the County of Kings, Hill has gained the respect of his board and department heads and handled complex political and communication challenges. He also has experience and certification in process improvement and project management.

“On a personal level, I have worked closely with Mr. Hill as a fellow CAO and Valley partner. He understands the unique challenges that we face in the San Joaquin Valley and brings that perspective to Fresno County. He will make an incredible impact not only in the CAO office, but to the residents of Fresno County,” stated Nerland.

In his spare time, Hill enjoys coaching baseball, golfing, fishing, camping and anything to do with his children.
