Duarte City Manager Dr. Dan Jordan has announced his resignation from the City of Duarte to accept the role of city manager in La Cañada Flintridge. The Duarte City Council has begun the process of selecting the City’s next city manager. Jordan’s last day as Duarte’s city manager will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
“City Manager Dan Jordan has respectably served Duarte since the height of the pandemic as a force that connected city staff at a time when it was needed most. He has recently informed the City Council that he will be moving on to another opportunity,” stated Duarte Mayor Jody Schulz. “I appreciate his professionalism and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We are evaluating potential candidates and will have more to report soon regarding succession planning that will ensure the City of Duarte continues to deliver for the community.”
The Duarte City Council unanimously voted Daniel Jordan as city manager during its regular meeting of the City Council on February 11, 2020. Over the past three years, Jordan has focused on restructuring and improving operations to increase financial reserves, creating organizational efficiencies by implementing new information flows and procedures and initiating long-range planning processes, including the City’s first Five-Year General Fund Projection and first Five-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
“It’s an honor to have served as city manager for the City of Duarte for the past three years,” stated Jordan. “The community is really one of a kind, and it’s been a privilege to be in a position to preserve its proud tradition as the City of Health. I am thoroughly grateful for the experiences I’ve had with this community, under the leadership of this City Council and with the support of Duarte staff.”
