Team Tripepi Smith is headed to the 2023 Municipal Management Association of Southern California (MMASC) Annual Conference in Coronado from November 1–3, 2023. Representing Tripepi Smith at the conference will be President Ryder Todd Smith, Principal Katherine Griffiths, APR, Senior Business Analysts Melanie James and Syndi Overly, Business Analyst Nolan Voge and Junior Business Analyst Alyson Nichols.
Ryder will be leading a session titled “Building Your A-Team: Recruitment Tips & Tricks” on November 2 from 2:15–3:30 p.m. As president of Tripepi Smith and TS Talent Solutions, Ryder has gained valuable experience when it comes to recruiting. He will be sharing some tips and tricks on how to create a seamless recruitment process as well as how to recruit high-level candidates to your organization.
“It is critical to not only find the right talent for your organization but also to be able to keep your employees engaged, especially for the local government space,” said Ryder. “Organizational culture is one of the biggest things we focus on here at Tripepi Smith, and I am excited to share my expertise on how to communicate your agency’s mission, culture and individual responsibilities to help build a strong team of professionals”.
Award-winning writer Katherine will lead a session on November 2 from 10:45 a.m. –12 p.m. titled ‘The Write Stuff: Writing Strategies Bootcamp’. Katherine will discuss the challenges of making resident messaging understandable.
“I am excited to teach participants about Federal Plain Language Guidelines, how speaking plainly can help public agencies connect with their constituents and how to overcome impediments to clear communication,” said Katherine. “It is now more important than ever for organizations to not only utilize strong messaging, but to also make it so that residents are able to understand what is going on within their community”.
In addition to sessions, Tripepi Smith will host a Sponsor Reception on November 2 from 6 p.m. –8 p.m. at the Loews Coronado’s Marina Terrace. Tripepi Smith will be joined by several other corporate partners for a night of beverages and food. All conference attendees are welcome to attend.
