The Town of Los Altos Hills is pleased to announce that it has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its FY 2024-25 and FY 2025- 26 budget. This award reflects the Town’s commitment to excellence in governmental budgeting.
Mayor Stanley Mok stated, “Receiving the GFOA award highlights the Town’s commitment to transparency and effective financial management. It reflects the collaborative efforts of our City Council, Finance and Investment Committee (FIC), and staff in ensuring our budgeting process meets the needs of our residents.”
“This award is a testament to the hard work of our staff and the collaboration with the City Council and FIC,” said City Manager Peter Pirnejad. “Our successful transition to a two-year budget is a significant achievement, especially during a year with unexpected staff turnover and budget constraints.”
The award represents a significant achievement for the Town, reflecting the commitment of the City Council and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. To receive the budget award, the Town had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well the Town’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device.
The Town remains dedicated to upholding high standards of financial management and effective budgeting practices. The Town would like to thank the City Council, FIC, and dedicated staff for their contributions to this accomplishment.
