At their December 3, 2024 meeting, the Brea City Council unanimously  voted Kristin Griffith as Interim City Manager. Previously, Griffith served as Brea’s  Administrative Services Director/Deputy City Manager. She is filling the City Manager position  following the retirement of previous City Manager Bill Gallardo. 

Griffith has over 27 years of municipal oversight experience. She came to Brea in 2022 as  the Administrative Services Director, and was then appointed as Administrative Services  Director/Deputy City Manager in July 2024. Prior to coming to the City of Brea, Griffith was the  Director of Financial Management and Strategic Planning for the City of Irvine and the Director  of Finance for the Santa Margarita Water District. 

Previous Brea City Manager Bill Gallardo recently announced his retirement after 34 years  of service to the Brea community. Gallardo served as Brea City Manager for the past nine years.  He began his career in Brea in 1990 and served as Finance Manager, Administrative Services Director and Administrative Services Director/Assistance City Manager, before City Council  appointed him as City Manager in 2015.
